Open call for papers 2023

12-05-2023

GEUS Bulletin is the official peer-reviewed journal published by the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) since 2003. We are indexed in Web of Science amongst others and are proudly diamond open access – meaning that we do not charge publication fees and all our articles are free to read and download online.

We invite authors to submit papers on any aspect of geoscience in Denmark, Greenland and the Arctic region and we welcome submissions to the following categories:

  • Research Articles – original research article
  • Review Articles – a literature review
  • Data Article Shorts – a technical note to document a new or revised data set
  • Method Article Shorts – a technical note to document a new or revised method, experiment, instrumentation network, software or model
  • Research Article Shorts – a short research article that warrants rapid publication, can describe an ongoing project with still preliminary results
  • Review Article Shorts – a short literature review that warrants rapid publication

Read all about our formats and publishing criteria in our author guidelines.

In publishing with GEUS Bulletin, your article will receive a prompt initial editorial evaluation. All articles undergo a thorough peer review by independent experts in the field. Our in-house team of language editing professionals and graphic designers are on hand to answer your questions, we can host your data and code for free in our data repository and promote published articles via our social media channels.

We particularly encourage submissions from early career researchers and post-graduates who are relatively new to scientific publishing and may require additional pre-submission feedback and support throughout the peer review process.

You can view our most recent issues here and see our subject categories here.

Manuscripts are submitted online: geusbulletin.org/submissions

If you wish to propose a special issue (e.g. a monograph, map description or a thematic issue), please contact a member of our editorial team or send an email to enquiries@geusbulletin.org. A separate call for proposals of special issues will be released later this year.

On behalf of the editorial team, we look forward to reading your research!

Best wishes
